Rentals

See the place before you pay anyone. A housing listing that asks for a wire, a gift card, or a deposit before a showing is a common scam. Confirm that the person has the right to rent the place. Meet at the property, not only in a chat.

Jobs

A real employer does not ask you to pay to get the job, to buy equipment with a gift card, or to send a Social Security number in the first message. If the pay sounds far above the work, slow down and check the company outside CraneBoard.

Vehicles

See the vehicle and the title before you pay. Do not wire money, send a gift card, or pay a shipping fee for a car, truck, or motorcycle you have not seen in person.

Payments

Gift cards, wire transfers, and payment apps sent to a stranger before you have the item are warning signs. The $5 CraneBoard post fee, when it applies, is paid to CraneBoard through Stripe. It is not a payment to the other person. The refund policy covers that fee.

Fair housing and equal employment

A housing listing may not discriminate because of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, or national origin. A job listing may not discriminate because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetic information. Use Report on a listing that does. The posting rules and community guidelines still apply.
