Terms

Terms of use

Rules for reading, posting, and cookies on CraneBoard.

The short version

CraneBoard is a classifieds board for housing, jobs, items for sale, and services. Reading the boards and the blog is free. The blog is never charged and does not ask you to sign in. Posting a listing costs $5 and follows the refund policy.

These terms work with the posting rules, community guidelines, privacy notice, cookie policy, and DMCA page.

Who can use CraneBoard

You must be 18 or older to create an account, post a listing, or send a message. The site is not directed at children.

Reading a public listing or a blog article does not require an account. Posting requires an account, email and phone confirmation, and a Stripe Identity result of verified.

Your listing

You keep ownership of the text and photos you submit. You grant CraneBoard a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, reproduce, and adapt that material for operating the board, including moderation, search, backups, and the phone app. The license ends when the listing is removed, except for copies kept as required for fraud prevention, legal process, or a backup that is overwritten in the ordinary cycle.

You promise that you have the right to post the material, that it is not someone else's listing copied without permission, and that it follows the posting rules.

What the badges mean

Email and phone confirmed means CraneBoard confirmed the account email and a phone number with one-time codes. It is not an identity check.

ID verified means Stripe Identity sent identity.verification_session.verified for a document and a matching selfie. CraneBoard stores the status and the session id only. The badge is not shown for email and phone confirmation, for a sandbox session, or because someone returned from the Stripe window.

No badge is a promise that a listing is safe, accurate, or still available. Meet in public and pay only after you can inspect what you are buying.

Takedown

CraneBoard may remove or refuse a listing, message, photo, or account that breaks these terms, the posting rules, or the law, or that looks like a scam. Moderators cannot mark a listing paid. You can ask for a review by writing to the contact page.

Copyright complaints follow the DMCA notice and counter-notice page.

Liability

Listings are offers between users. CraneBoard is not the seller, employer, landlord, or agent of either side. The service is provided as-is.

To the extent the law allows, CraneBoard's total liability for a claim related to the service is limited to the listing fees you paid to CraneBoard in the 12 months before the claim. CraneBoard is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost deals, or the acts of other users. Some states do not allow these limits, and in those states the limit applies only as far as the law allows.
