Cookie policy

Rules for reading, posting, and cookies on CraneBoard.

Your choice

A banner asks you to Accept, Reject, or Customize. Essential cookies stay on. Analytics and marketing stay off until you accept them. Reject is the same size choice as Accept. You can change the choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer.

That is how CraneBoard handles a request for consent before non-essential cookies, including a GDPR-style request. If you are in California, the same control is the Do Not Sell or Share choice.

Essential

Essential cookies keep you signed in and store the cookie choice itself. The choice is kept in a cookie named craneboard_consent and in local storage under the same name. These stay on because the site cannot remember a refusal without them.

Analytics

Analytics stays off until you accept it. CraneBoard does not set a third-party analytics cookie today. If one is added later, it will stay off until you accept analytics.

Marketing and the Meta pixel

Marketing stays off until you accept it. If NEXT_PUBLIC_META_PIXEL_ID is set and you accept marketing, CraneBoard loads the Meta (Facebook) pixel from connect.facebook.net. The pixel can receive PageView, Lead, and Purchase. Purchase is sent with a value of 5 US dollars and the currency USD. No name, email, phone, account id, or listing id is sent.

If the pixel id is not set, nothing is loaded, even if you accept marketing. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, marketing stays off. See globalprivacycontrol.org. Meta may set its own cookie when the pixel loads. CraneBoard does not copy that cookie onto its servers.

The same facts are in the privacy notice.

Do Not Sell or Share

California residents can opt out of sale or sharing of personal information. CraneBoard does not sell personal information. The Meta pixel is the sharing choice, and it is off unless you accept marketing.

The footer link Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information opens this choice and turns marketing off. You can also use Cookie settings. Email privacy@thecraneboard.com with the subject CCPA request for a know, delete, or correct request. The Attorney General publishes the law at oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa.
