How CraneBoard works
What the ID verified badge means
The two CraneBoard badges, and the promises they do not make.

CraneBoard shows at most one public badge on an account. The words are exact. They are also easy to over-read.
Email and phone confirmed
This means a code was entered for the account email and a code was entered for a phone number. It is the basic step. It is not an identity check. A person with this badge still cannot post. The rules are in the terms.
ID verified
This means Stripe Identity sent identity.verification_session.verified for a document and a matching selfie. CraneBoard stores the status and the session id. It does not store the photos. Returning from the Stripe window does not create this badge. A practice session on a sandbox server does not create it either.
The verification guide walks through that order.
What neither badge does
A badge is not a home inspection, a job offer, or a promise the item is still available. The terms say to meet in public and to pay only after you can inspect what you are buying. The FTC's rental listing scams page still applies to a housing ad with a badge on it. A copied listing can sit next to a real name.
If the ad breaks the posting rules, use Report. The badge does not block a report.
Denver, Salt Lake City, Miami, and Dallas-Fort Worth readers can open Denver, Salt Lake City, Miami, and Dallas-Fort Worth and judge the listing itself.
